The mission of the Cinema Revolution Society is to invigorate film culture in Minnesota. The Society, with its partner organization Intermedia Arts, presents curated Film Society public screenings of some of the best local, domestic and international films. The organization also offers open forums on film theory and history through its Cinema Salon film discussion series, and supports local filmmakers through its commissioning programs Dance Film Project and Revolution Reel.

What is the Dance Film Project?

DANCE FILM PROJECT is an annual event initiated in 2008 by Cinema Revolution Society executive director and independent filmmaker, John Koch. The festival values creativity, experimentation and cross-discipline dialogue among artists and aims to explore choreography through a cinematic language. The festival’s intent is to be an outlet for dancemakers and filmmakers to collaborate and create original short works for the camera with a guaranteed presentation.

Dance Film Project will feature new work by a variety of emerging and established Minnesota-based artists. Twenty-two distinct collaborations and solo directed projects have formed and will be present their work for the 2009 festival.

DVD's Still For Sale

About 800 Titles and a Few Fixtures Remain Available After the Sale

Cinema Revolution DVD rental has closed and held a liquidation sale of its entire inventory of foreign, independent, documentary, cult and classic movies on October 3rd and 4th, during the Sound Unseen festival.  The sale was very successful, but we only had two days to sell everything, and we still have a lot of good titles left.
